Honorable Delegates, distinguished chairs, and most of all esteemed future leaders & Diplomats, it is my immense privilege & honor as the President of Elbe Ariana International Model UN Conference 2019 to invite you in the 2nd edition of EAIMUN held from the 13th to 16th of March 2019 in the historical city of Kabul, Afghanistan.

EAIMUN conference has successfully completed a successful inaugural edition in 2018 and EAIMUN is coming back in action fully renewed in 2019. EAIMUN has as main goal; to set high standards not only for EAIMUN itself but for all the MUNs in Afghanistan and the region. In this difficult task our most useful tool is our participants, from the Organizing Committee to the Secretariat, we have created the ideal team that combines experience alongside with the willingness for work and this in the unique EAIMUN way.

In this year’s EAIMUN we are simulating 7 different councils & committees. The Security Council, the Human Rights Council, the Economic and Social Council, UN Women, WHO, and the Specialized committee in National Languages of Afghanistan, Meshrano Jirga (House of Elders). In addition to these committees for the first time in Afghanistan we have introduced UNGA in the closing ceremony where all the conference participants gather to make UN General Assembly and votes for the resolutions presented to UNGA and thus it gives the delegates an opportunity to learn and experience UNGA procedures as well.

EAIMUN promises to challenge delegates to engage and think critically. Through the many committees meticulously prepared and moderated by experienced chairs & co chairs, delegates will research historical conflicts and wars, investigate humanitarian crises and responses, and work toward consensus on sustainability and survival. Tackling these problems will require nothing short of the most unwavering persistence. We believe that the ability to discuss and attempt to solve the issues plaguing the world stage is a chance everyone must take advantage of, especially young people.

As you prepare for EAIMUN 2019, I encourage you to open your minds to different possibilities and solutions, even ones you originally might not have supported. Integral to what we do as MUN delegates are the values of cooperation among thinkers and tolerance of ideas. Represent the player you’ve been assigned with accuracy and grace, but always remember to listen. Most importantly, believe in your committee’s ability to solve the problem at hand, and believe in the significance of your work.

I am always constantly inspired by how many fellow students share the same interest and passion towards current affairs, and are willing to give up weekends to brainstorm ways to change the world, and I hope to welcome you all in March to a conference that will match or even surpass the high standards that have been set so far in the first edition of EAIMUN. Dear Delegates, its commitment to Fostering Excellence will ensure that the participants of today will be the leaders of tomorrow.

Join us at EAIMUN 2019!

Warm regards,

Speenghar Ahmadzai

Founder & President of EAIMUN
